There’s something undeniably romantic about Santorini. Whether it’s the narrow cobbled streets, the scent of blooming bougainvillea, or the soft ocean breeze, the island’s atmosphere creates the perfect ambiance for a wedding. Each moment, from the first look to the last dance, is filled with love and magic, and as a photographer, I’m there to capture every fleeting second.

Weddings in Santorini and in Greece in general are often more intimate, with close friends and family gathered to celebrate your union. What Makes my photography style unique?

1. Storytelling through candid photography

When you hire a Santorini wedding photographer, you don’t just want posed photos. You want a visual story that brings you back to the emotions of your wedding day. My candid approach ensures that I capture real moments as they unfold, without interrupting the flow of your day. Whether it’s a shared glance between you and your partner or the joyful tears of your loved ones, I’m there to document it all naturally and unobtrusively.

2. Focus on Emotion

The beauty of candid photography is that it’s raw and real. You won’t find forced smiles or stiff poses in my work. Instead, my aim is to highlight the emotion in each moment, from the nervous excitement before walking down the aisle to the elation during your first dance. I believe that the best wedding photos are the ones that make you feel something, and that’s what I strive to deliver with every shot.

3. Capturing the Essence of Santorini

Santorini itself plays a starring role in your wedding photos. As your photographer, I’ll incorporate the island’s stunning scenery into your album—whether it’s the glistening waters, the dramatic cliffs, or the vibrant colors of a sunset. My goal is to blend the natural beauty of Santorini with the candid moments of your day, creating a seamless narrative that’s both intimate and grand.

Key Considerations for planning your Santorini Wedding

1. Choosing the Perfect Venue

Santorini offers a wide range of wedding venues, from luxurious resorts to quaint chapels perched on cliffs. Popular options include the stunning Venetsanos Winery, which overlooks the caldera, and Rocabella Santorini, a modern venue with panoramic views. No matter where you choose, your wedding photos will be framed by the island’s natural beauty. If you are starting to plan your Santorini wedding, i have a guide on everything you need to know to plan your beautifull day.

2. Picking the perfect time

The best time to get married in Santorini is from May to October, when the weather is warm and sunny. However, be mindful of the light during your ceremony and photo sessions. The late afternoon, close to sunset, provides the most flattering and golden light for photography. As your expert Santorini wedding photographer, I’ll work with you to ensure that your schedule maximizes these golden moments.

3. Understanding the Local Culture

Getting married in Santorini can also mean embracing some local traditions. Many couples opt to incorporate elements of Greek culture into their ceremonies, such as breaking plates or dancing to traditional music. These cultural touches can add a layer of meaning to your day, and of course, make for fantastic photo opportunities!

Tips for Booking Your Santorini Photographer

1. Book Early

Santorini is one of the most popular wedding destinations in the world, which means wedding vendors, including photographers like myself, get booked up quickly. To ensure that you secure your preferred Santorini photographer, it’s best to book at least 12 to 18 months in advance, especially if your wedding is during peak season.

2. Look for Experience

When choosing your wedding photographer, make sure to select someone ( like me ;) with extensive experience shooting in Santorini. The island’s unique lighting and landscape require a trained eye and technical skill. My years of experience as a Santorini wedding photographer ensure that I know the best locations, angles, and times of day for the most stunning shots, i will get you to the Red Beach at sunset for example for more intimate pictures.

3. Have a Pre-Wedding Consultation

To get the best results, it’s important to have a pre-wedding consultation with me. This helps us align on your vision, preferred style, and the key moments you want to be captured. It also allows us to plan for any specific shots or locations that are meaningful to you. We will do this by video call, Google Meet or Zoom.
